It’s ok to have a bad day. You may feel like you’ve taken a big step backwards but you haven’t. Tomorrow is a new day and the slate is wiped clean overnight.
Do regular people have bad days? The answer is yes, so stop beating yourself up about it. The best thing to do is recognise that you’re having or even going to have a bad day and try to do something about it.
Eat some healthy food, drink plenty of water, do some exercise, meditate, get outdoors, try to break the cycle of the day. Try to nourish your mind and your body with things that will do it good.
If you can’t do those healthy things it’s ok! It’s ok to stay in your PJs all day, it’s ok to eat a huge bit of cake, it’s ok to not be ok. Be kind to yourself. Do what feels right.
The key is to not indulge your bad day. Don’t drink alcohol or self medicate with anything other than your prescribed meds… whatever you take or do that involves indulging in self-destruction, won’t make you feel any better. You know it, I know it, so try your hardest not to do it.
You will get through today. You will feel better tomorrow… and if you don’t, try harder to do the things that you know will get you better. Make a list, stick it on the fridge, try and build up the nourishment day by day. It’s easier said than done I know, but you can do it. Stay strong, you’ve got this x
