Gosh I haven’t written in a while. Sorry about that. I’ve been working very hard on getting myself better. Anyone with mental health illness knows that some days are good and some are bad. The same goes for months. The same for years. Sometimes we all need a break to just look after ourselves.
I don’t know about you, but I fall over after being stressed or busy. There’s a pattern that I now recognise. So I work very hard to look after myself and give myself a break when these periods arise.
So September… the month after the school holidays. The first few weeks in a new routine. The days when you need to get up and at ‘em. Plus I have the double whammy. My little one starting school. Two children to get ready! Awesome! Plus I’m finishing my forest school leader training.
But I’ve been kicking it. Yoga most days. Sitting outside. Walking lots. Two fitness classes a week. Chilling at the spa, reading lots and… limiting sugar and alcohol.
Don’t get me wrong. I’ve been having bad days. Extra meds help. Getting out into nature helps. Putting myself first helps. And understanding that being kind to myself is the best thing I can do.
So eat the cake whilst forcing yourself to do exercise. Take a day off whilst meditating. Walk in the rain whilst ranting about the ex. Chill in the spa and have a sugar in your coffee. Treat yourself to a yoga retreat and drink a little bit too much Prosecco… whoops.
Look after yourself. Nourish your mind and body. Get your fitness on. See friends. Take a day off. Do things to make yourself happy. Give yourself a break. You’ve got this. J xxx
